Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration and screening for all Benson children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2011 will be held at the Benson Village School on Friday, May 13th, 2011. Parents will have an appointment time mailed to them. An appointment time is necessary for registration. If you have not been notified by mail and wish to register your child or know of someone who has a kindergartner, please call the school at 537-2491. Please be sure to bring your child’s birth certificate and immunization records.

EEE Screening

The Benson-Orwell EEE Program will be conducting a screening for children 0-5 years old living in Benson or Orwell. The preschool screening involves activities that are both fun for young children and help us learn about a child’s motor, cognitive, and language skills. Vision and Hearing will also be screened.

The screening for 3-5 year olds will take place by appointment at the Benson Village School on Thursday, May 5th from 8 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Please call 537-2491 by May 3rd to schedule the screening for your child. Please bring your child’s immunization record and birth certificate with you to the screening.

If you have a child 0-3 years of age that you would like screened, please call 537-2491. Screening appointments will be scheduled on an individual basis for children ages 0-3 years. This is a free service to all residents of Benson and Orwell.

Great things are happening at Benson Village School!

Recently, FHUHS’s Valedictorian was announced. We are proud to say Kyle Gearwar, graduate of BVS and Benson resident, was chosen as this year’s Valedictorian. Congratulations, Kyle!

This year, BVS will have a yearbook. Mr. Batschelet and Ms. Witt will be working with students to produce this yearbook. Right now, a contest is going on for the cover design. Students submitted their artwork and one will be chosen by majority student vote.

8^th grade is working hard to raise money for their trip to Washington. The trip will be the week of May 22nd, days to be confirmed. Their next event will be a dance, “March Madness” on 3/17. Anyone in the district in grades 6-8 is welcome to attend.
