Notes From The Principal

Dear Parents and Website Visitors:

Welcome to Benson Village School!  The school year 2015-16 is about to begin.  As always, I look forward to the students returning and the excitement of another year! The first PTCC (Parent Teacher Community Collaborative) is scheduled for August 31st at 6:00 pm.  We hope you can join us for the kickoff to events for this year.  Involvement on this committee is as much or as little as you can offer.  Stop by and see what is on tap for this year.

Deb Robbins, the face of BVS, has received a well-deserved promotion and has moved to central office.  We are lucky to have a familiar face to step into Deb’s shoes; Jeannine Bennett.   Other new staff joining us this year include Nicholle Nelson, teaching grades 2 and 3, and Laela LaRose, a new instructional assistant.  Welcome to all these new faces!

We hope you are looking forward to the new school year!  As always, feel free to give us a call if you don’t find what you need on this website or have a question.  We also welcome visitors, so feel free to call to set up a time to come by.

Back to School Night will be on August 25th from 6:00-7:00 pm. The first day of school will be on August 26th. If your child is in EEE and will be attending on Mon-Wed-Fri, they will also begin on August 26th. If your child is in EEE and will be attending on Tues.-Thurs. they will begin on August 27th.

See you then!

Benson Students Continue Working on Walking Trail in a BIG Way!

Benson students were hard at work Friday June 5, 2015 on the community Walking Trail project that they started last year. Progress on the trail has been steady and the trail is looking better all the time. Here are a few photos of the students hard at work! Thank you to community members Bob St. Peter, John Wurzbacher, Luke Bartley, Lynn Fowler, Steven Stuart and Tracey Matteson for volunteering your time and energy in helping out with this ongoing project!  It was greatly appreciated!
