Dear Parents and Website Visitors:
The second trimester ends on March 13th. It’s hard to believe this year has gone by so quickly!
Eighth grade fundraising has gone very well this year. This is thanks in large part to the success of the Basket Raffle on January 31st. Credit goes to Emily Dugan, Pam Dugan and Sarah Dugan. These ladies worked especially hard to ensure the success of the raffle – a big THANKS to all three of them!
The Science Fair is scheduled for April 8th. C’mon out and see what will surely be an amazing display of talent from our students!
Here’s to SPRING!

Notice to Parents and Guardians:
Free Tutorial Services
Benson Village School received notice from the Vermont Agency of Education that we have been identified as a school in need of improvement based on our student performance in the area of Math on the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) scores from 2013. We are entering Year 3 of school improvement this school year based on not achieving AYP in Math or Reading last year and this year.
Federal and state guidelines require all identified schools like BVS to notify parents of this status. Further, we notify families with a child(ren) who receive or are eligible for free lunch that Supplemental Educational Services (SES) monies are available to them for free tutorial services.
Parents can choose a tutoring service from the state approved provider list which can be found by clicking on the following link.
If you would prefer a paper copy of this list, we will be happy to provide that. If you are interested in securing these services for your child(ren) please contact us no later than February 1, 2015.
Please feel free to call the school and speak with Ms. Doty for more information about Supplemental Education Support Services or with general questions.
